Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the lead teachers in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children. Your primary focus will be on fostering the development of each child through educational activities, play, and caregiving. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for early childhood education and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of children.

Responsibilities

- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities.
- Must be comfortable providing safe and nurturing care to all age groups from infant to preschool.
- Provide care and supervision to children in a classroom setting.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages learning and exploration.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, ensuring all children feel valued and included.
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, and hands-on activities to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom materials and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

- Prior experience in early childhood education or working with children is required
- Knowledge of caregiving practices and child development principles.
- Ability to create an engaging classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.
- Robust interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educating young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- A commitment to promoting an inclusive atmosphere for all children, including those with disabilities.
- Must have a clear and valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a TB test
- Must have valid CPR and First Aid issued in Ontario
- Candidates looking for a full time permanent position
- Flexible for all shifts between the hours of 7:30-6:00 P.M.
- Flexible to work in all classrooms each day
