In Space Universe is growing again!

We are seeking a strong, experienced Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our licensed childcare centre in Nanaimo, BC (3255 Stephenson Point Road). This full time leadership role will oversee one classroom and is ideal for an educator with supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, and confidence in curriculum planning and team support.

This position is well suited to an educator who enjoys working with children ages 2.5–5 years, takes initiative, and thrives in a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of one classroom, ensuring smooth routines and quality programming
- Plan, implement, and support engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and activities
- Provide guidance and support to classroom educators and assistants
- Maintain safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environments
- Communicate professionally and positively with families, staff, and management
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and health & safety standards
- Assist with documentation, planning, and classroom organization as needed

Qualifications
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification (required)




- Supervisory or leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting strongly preferred
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and confident working independently
- Comfortable leading a team and communicating with parents and management
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to provide all required documentation prior to start date

Job Details
- Position Type: Full-time (8 hours per day)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, between 8:15 am – 5:15 pm
- Location: In Space Universe, 3255 Stephenson Point Road, Nanaimo, BC
