QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:

- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
- Experience working with children with special needs would be considered an asset
- Experience working with children with special needs would be considered an asset
- Post-secondary training in educational assistant, exceptionality worker, special education assistant, teacher education, or a related field would be considered an asset
- Experience integrating self-regulation and social-emotional care practices in the classroom is an asset;

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY: Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:

- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;
- Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;
- Ability to work as a member of a team;
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- Criminal Record/RCMP Check with Vulnerable Sector; to be provide before the first day of employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date
- Standard First Aid; to be provided within 3 months of the first day of employment
- Completion of the Education Assistant YG Learn course
