Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced electrical estimator to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to take on a key role within an established electrical contracting company working on a diverse range of commercial, multi-unit, residential and larger scale construction projects throughout Vancouver Island.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates, reviewing tender documents, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and working closely with our project management and operations teams to successfully transition awarded projects from estimating into construction.

Responsibilities

- Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documentation
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial, multi-unit, residential and other construction projects
- Complete material and labour take offs
- Solicit and review supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identify project scope, exclusions, risks, opportunities, and potential cost-saving alternatives
- Prepare tender submissions and ensure bids are complete and submitted on time
- Review electrical systems and project requirements for constructability and pricing
- Maintain current material pricing, labor units,



and estimating databases
- Assist with tender clarifications, RFI's and post-tender negotiations
- Work closely with project managers to provide a thorough handover of successfully awarded projects
- Assist with change order pricing and project budgeting when required
- Develop and maintain a strong relationships with general contractors, suppliers, consultants and other industry partners

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, systems, and the Canadian Electrical Code
- Previous electrical estimating experience is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, architectural, mechanical and constriction drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of labor requirements and construction sequencing
- Experience with electrical estimating software and digital takeoff programs
- Strong computer skills, including Excel andf related applications
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
- Knowledge of the Vancouver Island and BC construciton market is an asset
