Your role will greatly impact both hydro and diesel generation units. You will be responsible for overseeing the North Slaves and South Slaves systems under the Energy South Division's management. This position involves active monitoring, reporting, and ensuring all network operations adhere to safety and regulatory standards. Successfully managing public inquiries during outages with empathy and clarity will also be part of your duties. Key Responsibilities:
- Control diesel engines and hydro turbines through SCADA relays
- Monitor alarms and adjust operations of generation units
- Prepare comprehensive reports for management review
- Implement switching procedures and issue Work Protection Permits
- Quickly restore systems post-disruption and document incidents
Requirements:
- High School Diploma with at least five years of relevant experience
- Training in electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus
- Solid communication skills for effective public engagement
- Ability to analyze diagrams and telemetry
- Full class 5 driver's license required
