Allied Projects is looking for an experienced Electrical Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a well-rounded commercial electrician with strong service and troubleshooting experience, along with hands-on knowledge of fire alarm and life safety systems.

In this position, you’ll work independently and alongside our project and service teams completing a variety of commercial electrical and fire alarm service work. Your work may include troubleshooting electrical systems, completing small installations and upgrades, repairing fire alarm deficiencies, assisting with inspections and verifications, or diagnosing an intermittent system issue.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, customers, fire alarm vendors, verification agencies, inspectors, monitoring providers, subcontractors, and other trades to diagnose problems and develop practical solutions.

What You’ll Do

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Complete electrical service calls involving lighting, receptacles, branch circuits, panels, controls, equipment connections, and other building electrical systems.
- Complete small electrical installations, additions, modifications, retrofits, and equipment replacements.
- Complete fire alarm deficiency repairs identified during annual and periodic inspections.




- Perform fire alarm upgrades, retrofits, device replacements, and system modifications.
- Assist with fire alarm inspections, testing, programming, and verification activities as required.
- Diagnose intermittent electrical and fire alarm issues including wiring faults, ground faults, device troubles, communication issues, power supply problems, and control circuit faults.
- Install and troubleshoot electrical controls, relays, contactors, power supplies, and associated control wiring.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, fire alarm drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and manufacturer documentation.
- Coordinate directly with customers to understand service concerns, explain findings, and provide clear recommendations.
- Work with Project Managers to identify additional repairs, materials, or follow-up work required.
- Coordinate with verification agencies, inspectors, engineers, monitoring providers, and fire alarm manufacturers when required.
- Complete service documentation accurately, including descriptions of work performed, deficiencies identified, materials used, and recommended next steps.
- Manage assigned service calls efficiently while maintaining communication with customers and the Allied Projects team.
- Support apprentices and other technicians when working together on larger service calls or projects.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, CAN/ULC standards,



manufacturer requirements, site safety requirements, and applicable codes.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and customer-focused presence on every site.

What Makes You a Great Fit

- Journeyperson Electrician certification required.
- Strong commercial electrical service and troubleshooting experience.
- Fire alarm experience required; CFAA certification is considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems including distribution, branch circuits, lighting, controls, and equipment connections.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, initiating devices, notification appliances, relays, control modules, power supplies, and associated electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting fire alarm panels and field wiring is a strong asset.
- Experience with fire alarm inspections, deficiency repairs, panel replacements, retrofits, system upgrades, and verification work is an asset.
- Experience completing small commercial electrical projects and service work independently.
- Comfortable working on both electrical and fire alarm service calls depending on customer needs.
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in the field.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to clearly document findings and communicate recommended repairs to customers and Project Managers.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple service calls and priorities.
- Comfortable working in occupied commercial and light industrial facilities.
- Clean driver’s abstract and ability to pass security clearance screening.
- Dependable, safety-focused, professional, and team-oriented.

Pay: $44.00-$46.20 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
