Matrix HR is actively seeking dedicated Journeyperson and Apprentice Electricians to join our team for an exciting series of commercial renovation projects across Nova Scotia. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking for steady work, offering an estimated 6 months of employment on high-profile big-box store projects.
We're looking for motivated electricians who take pride in their work and are ready to contribute to a protected, professional workplace. If you're based in the Halifax area, we've got great incentives to help you get to the job site comfortably.
What We Offer
- Journeyperson Rate: $36.54/hr plus a 15% night shift premium.
- Apprentice Rates: $18.53 – $32.72/hr (based on experience) plus a 15% night shift premium.
- Travel Incentives: We're offering a $40 daily per diem for those travelling to our New Glasgow site from Halifax.
- Paid Travel: You'll be paid your regular hourly wage for travel time to ensure you're compensated for your commute.
- Stability: Enjoy a consistent pipeline of work through November 2026.
- Vacation Pay: 8% vacation pay is included on every cheque.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on commercial renovation sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all work strictly adheres to the Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and site personnel to keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and quality in every task you perform.
Qualifications
- A valid Journeyperson Electrician ticket or an active Apprentice registration.
- Proven experience performing electrical work in a commercial or industrial setting.
- A strong understanding of electrical systems and modern safety protocols.
- Reliable transportation and a commitment to being punctual for night shifts.
- A team-player attitude and a dedication to maintaining high safety standards on site.
