Role Description The Environmental Landuse Professional is a full-time, in office role based in the Greater Edmonton Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for assessing land use constraints, environmental sensitivities, and regulatory requirements to support project planning and approvals. Daily tasks include conducting field assessments and desktop reviews, preparing technical reports and permit applications, and advising project teams on environmental compliance and land use best practices.

The role involves collaborating with clients, regulators,



and internal stakeholders to ensure projects align with environmental policies and standards throughout their development and operational phases.

The Environmental Landuse

Professional also monitors site activities, supports environmental inspections, and contributes to mitigation and restoration plans as needed.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Environmental Science and Environmental Policy, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Environmental Compliance, including practical knowledge of industry standards and permitting processes.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, present findings, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in environmental science, land use planning, ecology, geography, or a related field.
- Experience in environmental consulting or land use planning, preferably within sectors such as energy, utilities, or municipal development.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in varying conditions and travel to project sites as required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with GIS or mapping tools and standard office software is an asset.
