CQCC fosters economic growth by supporting 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, entrepreneurs, students and allies, and by helping Canada's corporate sector connect with the 2SLGBTQI+ business community. A leader in inclusive procurement, CQCC is also Canada's certifying body for 2SLGBTQI+ businesses.

The Opportunity

CQCC is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead the planning and delivery of a national portfolio of regional events, annual Gala, Summit and Nights of Distinction. These events are central to stakeholder engagement, organizational visibility, sponsor value, and revenue growth.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Programs , the Event Manager will serve as CQCC's internal event lead and work closely with colleagues, sponsors, partners, venues, suppliers and external event-management companies. The successful candidate will combine strong project discipline with creativity, sound judgment and confident on-site leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage CQCC's annual event calendar and detailed plans for regional events, annual Gala, Summit, Nights of Distinction and other organizational events.
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of each in-person event, ensuring a high-quality experience for attendees, honourees, sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee regional and corporate events across Canada, establishing consistent standards while adapting delivery to each audience, location and event objective.




- Liaise with regional organizations where appropriate to foster greater collaboration between CQCC and Regional Affiliates.
- Select, brief and manage external event-management companies, venues, suppliers and contractors, including scopes of work, contracts, deliverables, service quality and performance.
- Build and manage event budgets, workback schedules, project plans, risk registers, contingency plans and run-of-show documents, ensuring events are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with Corporate Business Development, Growth and Engagement, Marketing and Communications, and Program teams to deliver sponsorship commitments, programming, promotion and stakeholder communications.
- Oversee event logistics, including venues, speakers, production, registration, accessibility, staffing, volunteers, travel, catering, technology and on-site execution.
- Track event performance, revenue, attendance, participant feedback and other key measures; prepare post-event reports and recommendations that strengthen future events.

Education & Experience

- Post-secondary education in event management, hospitality, business, project management, communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of progressive experience planning and delivering complex corporate, association, conference, gala or multi-location events.
- Demonstrated experience managing external event-management companies, venues, suppliers and contractors, including contracts,



expectations and service quality.
- Solid project and financial management skills, including experience developing budgets, schedules, workplans, risk plans and event reporting.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with sponsors, partners, executives and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events and competing deadlines while remaining calm and solutions-focused during live delivery.
- Experience with event, project-management, CRM and collaboration tools. Experience in a chamber, not-for-profit organization or work supporting 2SLGBTQI+ communities is an asset; French is also an asset.

Terms This is a full-time, remote position supporting events across Canada. Regular travel and evening or weekend work are required based on the event schedule. The role works closely with teams across Growth and Engagement, Corporate Business Development, Marketing and Communications, and program delivery.

Compensation

Salary will be based on skills and experience, within the annual salary range of $75,000-$80,000. Additional benefits include group benefit plan coverage, annual vacation, and a generous public holiday schedule, including paid time off between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
