Skytec Contracting is looking for an experienced Roofer to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works safely and efficiently, and has strong hands-on experience with torch-on roofing systems and metal roofing.
The Role
As an Experienced Roofer, you will be responsible for completing residential and commercial roofing projects to a high standard. You’ll work as part of a team while also being comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for the quality of your work.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair torch-on roofing systems
- Install and repair metal roofing systems
- Complete roof preparation, tear-offs and installations
- Install roofing membranes, flashings, vents and other roofing components
- Read and interpret plans and follow project specifications
- Identify and address roofing issues and deficiencies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company and WorkSafeBC safety procedures
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Communicate effectively with the crew and project management team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a roofer
- Strong experience with torch-on roofing
- Experience installing metal roofing
- Knowledge of roofing materials, tools and installation techniques
- Ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to perform the demands of roofing work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Valid driver's licence is an asset
