Position Summary The Fleet & Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, coordination, and oversight of the maintenance, fleet, procurement, and camp facilities functions at our Conklin operation. This role is accountable for maintaining effective maintenance management systems, optimizing equipment reliability and availability, ensuring workforce accountability, overseeing procurement activities, and maintaining camp facilities to support a safe, efficient, and comfortable operating environment.
The position provides on-site leadership for the Maintenance, Fleet & Procurement functions, with direct oversight of shop personnel and responsibility for coordinating the procurement of parts, equipment, supplies, and services required to support operations. The role also oversees the day-to-day functionality, maintenance, and readiness of camp facilities, ensuring facility-related needs are proactively identified and addressed.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Systems & Asset Management
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve maintenance tracking systems and processes.
- Track and report mechanic labour hours, tool time, equipment downtime, repairs, and maintenance costs.
- Develop and administer preventative maintenance schedules for all fleet and support equipment.
- Ensure maintenance records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with company standards.
- Monitor equipment reliability and identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce downtime.
- Generate maintenance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Shop Operations
- Provide direct leadership to mechanics, lead hands, shop personnel, and support staff.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities and prioritize work based on operational requirements.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of shop facilities, equipment, and work practices.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
- Support workforce planning and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Procurement & Inventory Management
- Oversee procurement activities for maintenance parts, tools, equipment, and shop supplies.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support operational requirements while controlling costs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Review purchase requests and ensure expenditures align with operational needs and budget expectations.
- Track inventory usage and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Camp Facilities & Projects
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, functionality, and overall condition of camp facilities.
- Coordinate and oversee camp repairs, renovations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
- Ensure staff accommodations, common areas, recreational spaces, kitchens, offices, and other camp facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance for camp buildings, infrastructure, utilities, and facility equipment.
- Work closely with Operations and HSEQ to ensure facility repairs and projects are completed safely and with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of facility repairs, inspections, projects, warranties, and service activities.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Technician, Truck and Transport Technician, or equivalent maintenance background preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance practices and preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience with maintenance management software and asset tracking systems.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
- Experience with procurement, inventory management, and vendor relations considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

Pay: $110,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
