FACILITIES & SETUP LABOURER The Ranchmen’s Club

Founded in 1891, The Ranchmen’s Club is one of Canada’s most historic and distinguished private clubs. Located in downtown Calgary, the Club maintains a variety of dining rooms, meeting spaces, outdoor areas and operational facilities.

We are seeking a dependable and physically capable Facilities & Setup Labourer to join our team.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position focused on moving furniture, setting up and resetting rooms, light cleaning, yard work and general facilities support. This is not an event-planning or hospitality-service position.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities & Setup Labourer supports the daily setup, upkeep and presentation of the Club’s indoor and outdoor spaces.

The position involves frequent lifting and moving of tables, chairs and equipment; vacuuming and other light cleaning; outdoor property work; and assisting with general facilities tasks. The successful candidate will be comfortable performing physical work throughout each shift and completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, reset and take down tables, chairs, podiums, staging and other equipment
- Prepare dining rooms, meeting rooms and other Club spaces according to setup instructions
- Move furniture and equipment safely between rooms and storage areas
- Complete room changes efficiently and within required timelines
- Perform light cleaning, including vacuuming, sweeping, spot cleaning and removing waste
- Assist with yard work, outdoor cleanup and general grounds maintenance
- Support outdoor setups and seasonal property work as required
- Assist with receiving deliveries and moving supplies and materials
- Keep equipment, storage rooms and work areas clean, organized and safe
- Provide basic setup assistance for screens, projectors,



televisions and microphones when required
- Identify and report maintenance, equipment and safety concerns to the Facilities Manager
- Assist the Facilities Manager with general building and operational tasks as assigned
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Qualifications

- Dependable, punctual and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
- Physically capable and comfortable performing manual labour throughout the shift
- Able to follow setup plans, instructions and room diagrams accurately
- Strong attention to detail and pride in completing work properly
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in general labour, facilities, moving, landscaping, property maintenance, warehousing or a similar hands-on role is an asset
- Basic experience with tools or audio-visual equipment is an asset
- Training will be provided for the right candidate

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Ability to safely move tables, chairs, staging and other equipment
- Ability to push and pull loaded carts
- Comfortable climbing stairs and using ladders when required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
