Job Title: Farm Worker

Reports To: Farm Manager

Job Overview:

This position performs essential manual tasks, including tending to poultry and operating machinery. Work may be outdoors or inside barns. This is a physically demanding role that may require heavy lifting and long hours.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Handling and caring for poultry
- Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
- Monitoring animal health; removing any trapped, sick or dead birds
- Gathering eggs; packing and operating equipment
- Running manure belts and adjusting litter depth when necessary
- Monitoring and removing pests
- Keeping the barn clean, which includes manure removal and blow down
- Maintaining sick pens for injured birds
- Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
- Perform general farm maintenance on caging equipment, including installations when necessary
- Maintain livestock performance records; write daily basic progress reports; keep logs and maintain records
- Other duties i.e. equipment maintenance, general cleaning maintenance,



loading and unloading trucks/trailers

Qualifications and Skills:

- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- No education or experience required, however, 6-12 months of previous experience is an asset
- Automated manure handling or storage system
- Egg gathering system
- Bulk grain or feed handling - automated
- Automated environmental control equipment
- Manure handling and storage

Working Conditions:

- Work is performed in poultry barns with exposure to dust, noise, odors, and varying temperatures
- Physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Work may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour Expected hours: 28.0 – 40.0 per week
