Freedom Boat Club offers a fun, fast-paced work environment devoted to creating remarkable experiences on the water for our members. We are seeking Dock Hands from May through October to care for our fleet and provide great customer service. If you would like to work outside and on the water, this is the job for you. This position requires availability on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Starting pay is $18.50 per hour
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain appearance of boats, docks, facilities, and equipment
- Assist members with boarding/disembarking boats, loading their gear and casting off/securing lines
- Maintain accurate records in the reservation system and Fleetio boat maintenance system
- Provide excellent customer service by anticipating members’ needs, getting to know their preferences, and making and answering phone calls
- Monitor weather and communicate with members and staff about hazardous conditions
- Manage the check-in and check-out processes using a handheld tablet
- Complete thorough boat inspections to ensure the boat is safe to operate and to identify damage or issues that need to be resolved
- Keep a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to be a team player
- May be asked to assist with other duties to ensure that operations run smoothly
Qualification and Education Requirements
- Must be over 18 years old
- High school education or equivalent
- Boating knowledge is a plus – training will be provided

Required physical abilities
- Transfer between boat and dock repeatedly
- Work outside in various weather conditions
- Maneuver in tight spaces
- Stand, kneel, walk, balance and carry equipment for prolonged intervals
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs
