Boreal Mining Equipment is hiring a Field Engineer (Mechanical) for a contract assignment supporting a client's mining and port operations in Quebec. Start date: October 1, 2026.

Location and rotation
Based in Quebec, with travel to Port-Cartier on a fly-in / fly-out basis as required (flights from MTL).
Rotation of 3 weeks in, 1 week out. 160 hours worked per 3-week rotation, scheduled in consultation with the site manager.
10-hour day shifts, as required by site operations.
Travel days are not counted as working days unless otherwise agreed in writing.
What you will do
Support client assignments in the field, coordinating with site, maintenance and engineering teams.
Carry out field follow-up on mechanical installations, equipment and piping work, and report on site conditions.
Provide inspection support and verify mechanical work against drawings,
specifications and manufacturer requirements.
Support commissioning, troubleshooting and reliability improvement of rotating and fixed equipment (conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers, material-handling and port equipment).
Provide project and operational support as required.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Registered and in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Experience in mining, heavy industry, or industrial construction projects.
Comfortable working a FIFO rotation at remote sites in Quebec.
Working knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME, CSA), and industrial site safety requirements (CNESST).
Strong technical documentation and communication skills. French is an asset.
