This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Service Technician - GTA based in Canada.
This field-based role supports the commercial roofing and building envelope sector across the Greater Toronto Area. You will combine technical expertise, customer engagement, quality assurance, and product education to help contractors deliver high-quality installations. Working directly with the contracting community and distribution partners, you will provide guidance on commercial roofing products and resolve technical questions from internal and external customers.
You will conduct site inspections, prepare detailed reports, and deliver both classroom-based and hands-on training. The position offers significant autonomy and requires solid communication, organization, and practical construction knowledge. With substantial regional travel, you will play a visible role in strengthening product knowledge, installation quality, and customer relationships.

Accountabilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial roofing contractors and distribution partners across the Greater Toronto Area.
- Promote commercial roofing and building envelope products within the contracting community and distribution network.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections at active and completed commercial roofing and construction sites.
- Evaluate installation quality and provide technical guidance to contractors to support proper product application and industry standards.
- Prepare clear, accurate written inspection and quality assurance reports for internal and external customers.
- Respond to technical inquiries from contractors, distributors, and internal stakeholders regarding commercial roofing and building envelope products.
- Develop and deliver both theoretical and hands-on product training for existing and prospective registered contractors.
- Support product education and promotional activities throughout the contracting and distribution communities.
- Attend and participate in relevant industry association events to strengthen market awareness and promote commercial products.
- Collaborate with commercial sales professionals and other internal teams to support customer needs and product adoption.
- Manage multiple site visits, customer requests, training sessions, and reporting activities independently while maintaining high service standards.
- Travel extensively throughout the region to support customers, conduct inspections, and deliver technical training.
Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience with the application of commercial roofing products is required.
- Experience with commercial building envelope products and installation is an asset.
- Degree, diploma, or formal education in Roofing, Construction Technology, Construction, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Previous experience performing quality assurance or construction site inspections is an advantage.
- Experience in product sales, technical promotion, contractor support, or customer education is an asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial roofing applications, installation practices, and construction environments.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to different audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Comfortable working in a field-based environment and regularly visiting active construction sites.
- Ability to climb ladders and perform the physical requirements associated with site inspections.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding region.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
