YOUR SKILLS
- FINANCIAL CONTROL AND REPORTING
Own accurate monthly reporting, reconciliations, cash-flow visibility, budgeting, forecasting, year-end support and practical financial controls.
- HANDS-ON ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS
Oversee and assist with A/R, A/P, payroll, banking, HST and tax filings, receipt records and the weekly transactions that keep the business moving.
- MANUFACTURING COSTING AND BUSINESS ANALYSIS
Turn labour, material, tooling, outside processing and overhead data into job-cost insight, margin visibility and decisions management can act on.
- ORGANIZATION, SYSTEMS AND FOLLOW-THROUGH
Build repeatable processes, maintain dependable records, coordinate finance software and access controls, and ensure deadlines and commitments do not get missed.
- ABILITY TO SWITCH GEARS IN AN EXPANDING MANUFACTURING BUSINESS
Work directly with ownership, production, quality, customers, suppliers, banks and outside advisors. Help where needed and remain calm when priorities change. MUST HAVE HANDS-ON ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE. MANUFACTURING OR JOB-COSTING EXPERIENCE IS STRONGLY PREFERRED

WHO YOU ARE
You are a practical, hands on manager who is comfortable both completing the work and improving how the work gets done. You can move from reviewing transactions and cash requirements to explaining margins, forecasts and business risk in plain language. You understand that good financial control in manufacturing depends on accurate information from purchasing, receiving, production, quality, shipping and administration.
Integrity, confidentiality and follow-through are essential. You are comfortable working directly with the President/CEO and can respectfully challenge assumptions, communicate your reasoning and help turn priorities into measurable action.
HOW WE COLLABORATE
This position works closely with every position within the manufacturing plant and is involved with every part of the business. This new position will create structure and visibility while keeping systems practical for a small team.
The role is expected to grow with the company and will be tasked with supervising and coordinating bookkeeping, administrative and external professional resources as needs develop.
As with many SME’s, key members wear many hats. You will be expected to learn the precision manufacturing industry and provide input to maintain financial health.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Manage day-to-day finance operations, including A/R, A/P, bookkeeping, payroll review, banking, receipts, HST and other required filings.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and lead a practical monthly finance review with ownership.
- Maintain cash-flow forecasts, budgets and short- and long-term financial analysis; identify risks early and recommend action.
- Prioritize payables, follow up on receivables and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, banks and advisors.
- Develop job-cost and profitability reporting using material, labour, tooling, outside processing and overhead information.
- Support quoting, pricing, major capital purchases and growth decisions with clear financial analysis.
- Establish useful KPIs and reporting that connect financial results with shop-floor performance.
- Coordinate year-end, tax, audit or review requirements with external accountants and maintain complete supporting records.
- Manage or support government funding, work-share, grants, SR&ED; and other third-party program applications and reporting.
- Coordinate insurance renewals, advantages administration and financial or HR paperwork as assigned.
- Help administer accounting software, banking access and internal controls; coordinate cybersecurity, computers, email, server, website and hosting matters with outside IT providers.
- Support front-office and administrative coverage when required, including professional telephone communication, visitors, shipment receiving and production-data entry.
- Improve procedures, document responsibilities and cross-train others to ensure continuity and dependable coverage.
- Perform other financial,
operational and administrative duties required in a small, growing manufacturing business.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of progressive accounting or financial-management experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of general ledger, month-end, A/R, A/P, payroll, banking, reconciliations, HST and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical ability, sound judgement and the confidence to communicate financial information clearly.
- Advanced organization, attention to detail, confidentiality and dependable follow-through.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills; ability to learn and improve accounting and operational software.
- A self-starting, team-oriented approach, and the ability to manage changing priorities as you help direct business growth.
OTHER ASSETS INCLUDE
- CPA designation or active progress toward a recognized accounting designation.
- Controller, finance-manager or senior-accounting experience in a small or medium-sized manufacturer.
- Experience with job costing, inventory, ERP/accounting systems, grants, SR&ED;, work-share, insurance or benefits administration.
- Experience supporting defence, aerospace, medical or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience coordinating cybersecurity requirements and outside IT service providers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Mandatory criminal background check.
- Speak, read and write English fluently.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Foxboro, Ontario.
- Interested in a long-term career and committed to continuous learning and growth.
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
