Summary

The FMD Canada team is seeking a highly motivated finance professional to lead its Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting activities! This focal member of the team will drive the integrity, quality, and availability of financial reporting within the site, along with facilitating the attainment of profitability, growth, and strategic business objectives by providing in-depth financial analysis to understand and explain key drivers. The Finance Lead will synthesize information using financial acumen and business skills to aid leadership in strategic decision making, while influencing messaging and points of course correction. As the trusted business partner of the site’s General Manager, this position operates in a rapid-paced private equity environment as a thought leader pacing the financial cadence of the company. The Finance Lead is also responsible for ensuring that the site’s financial statements are accurate by cultivating and monitoring an appropriate control environment and facilitating all statutory and financial audits.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead monthly close activities, including financial statement preparation, general ledger oversight, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Accumulate and report accurate and reliable information on the financial and operational performance of the business.
- Partner and align with Site Leadership on business priorities, objectives, and goals
- Leads P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasting process, including the development and continuous improvement of analytic and forecasting methodologies.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis to understand, explain,



and provide recommendations on business drivers. Analyze revenues and expenses, while utilizing trends to pinpoint areas of improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance controls, achieve efficiencies, increase financial transparency, policy recommendations, and support Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) integration efforts
- Expected to lead with the organization’s culture of teamwork, velocity, and integrity at the forefront
- Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Minimum five years of experience in financial/accounting management
- Proven ability to partner within a matrix environment
- Experience with ERP conversions highly desired
- Proficient in use of an ERP computer software package; Infor Visual LN experience strongly preferred
- Must have demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills
- Expertise in Excel, Powerpoint, and financial consolidation system such as Hyperion
