Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Calgary, Canada, Alcedio Capital Inc. is a financial firm known for its innovative approach to investment banking, financial advisory services, and capital deployment. Alcedio is seeking a Financial Analyst to support its Direct Investment division, working hands-on with portfolio company management teams across accounting, reporting, forecasting, and process improvement. Additional capacity will be allocated to the firm’s Investment Banking activities as and when applicable, providing the successful candidate with exposure to transaction work alongside portfolio operations.

This is a broad, hands-on role best suited to someone who is comfortable operating across multiple entities, and who is looking to build both operating and transaction experience. The role will report to a Director at Alcedio.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Partner directly with portfolio company operators and management teams to identify and implement process and policy improvements across finance and operations.
2. Own or support month-end and year-end close processes across one or more portfolio companies.
3. Prepare and review financial statements and supporting working papers.
4. Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for portfolio companies, including rolling forecasts and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
5. Prepare and review variance analysis (budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual) and communicate the underlying drivers to operators and the broader team.
6. Perform general ledger cleanup, reconciliation, and remediation projects, including correcting misclassifications, standardizing charts of accounts, and clearing suspense and aged balances.

Apply and interpret accounting treatment under IFRS, ASPE, and US GAAP depending on the entity and jurisdiction.
8. Document and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls at the portfolio company level.
9. Build and maintain financial models, including operating models, return models, and cash flow forecasts.
10. Monitor cash flow and working capital across portfolio companies.
11. Track and report portfolio company KPIs and dashboards to the team and senior leadership.
12. Support due diligence on prospective acquisitions, including financial analysis, quality of earnings review, and working capital analysis.
13. Support the integration of newly acquired companies, including chart of accounts standardization, systems and ERP transition, and opening balance sheet cleanup.
14. Support ERP and accounting system selection, implementation, and migration.
15. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and portfolio-level bookkeepers and controllers.
16. Provide additional capacity to Alcedio’s Investment Banking division as and when applicable, including financial modelling, market and company research, and the preparation of client and transaction materials.
17. Other duties as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.





· CPA designation, or actively pursuing one, strongly preferred.

· Prior exposure to private equity, direct investment, portfolio operations, or multi-entity corporate accounting is a solid asset.

· Working knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and US GAAP, with the ability to apply the correct framework, is an asset.

· Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills are an asset.

· Experience with common ERP and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics).

· Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

· Willingness to travel periodically to portfolio company sites.

Preferred Skills

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement mindset.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate finance concepts for non-finance operators.

· High degree of organization and the ability to manage multiple portfolio companies and projects concurrently.

· Project management skills, particularly for GL cleanup and process-improvement initiatives.

· Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced, multi-entity environments with limited existing infrastructure.

· Self-starter who is self-motivated and thrives with independence and accountability.

· High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism given exposure to sensitive financial information across multiple businesses.

· Fluent or conversational in Spanish considered an asset but not a requirement.

Pay: $50,823.41-$99,572.05 per year
