JHS Logistics is a growing transportation company operating a up-to-date fleet of tractors and refrigerated trailers throughout Canada and the United States.
We're looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic who can take ownership of keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently and wants to become a key part of a growing company.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and PTIs on tractors and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering and air system issues.
- Repair and service brakes, wheel seals, hubs, tires and trailer components.
- Perform routine engine and drivetrain repairs within the scope of a yard mechanic.
- Troubleshoot ABS, lighting and electrical faults.
- Complete reefer trailer inspections (Thermo King/Carrier experience is an asset).
- Identify issues before they become costly breakdowns.
- Maintain service records and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate major repairs with outside vendors when required.
- Keep the yard, parts inventory and work area organized.
- Ensure all equipment meets DOT, CVSA and MTO safety standards.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has 3+ years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Is skilled in diagnostics and problem solving.
- Has experience with air brakes, suspension, wheel ends, electrical systems and preventive maintenance.
- Holds a valid G driver's licence (DZ or AZ is an asset).
- 310T or 310J licence is an asset but experienced mechanics without a licence are encouraged to apply.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Reefer experience is an asset.
Vehicle & Tools Applicants with their own fully equipped service van and professional tools are strongly preferred.
If you do not currently have a service vehicle or complete tool set, JHS Logistics can provide them, with compensation adjusted accordingly.
