Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll preparation, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, bill payments, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate has previous accounting or bookkeeping experience, strong knowledge of day-to-day financial processes, and proficiency with QuickBooks.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, bill payments, and general ledger entries.
- Calculate and review employee payroll hours and maintain accurate payroll-related records.
- Prepare customer invoices, record payments, monitor outstanding receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded in QuickBooks.
- Prepare and maintain financial records and provide required information to the external accountant for HST, PD7A, year-end, and other government remittances or filings.
- Maintain organized financial records and assist with month-end reporting, audits,
and other accounting-related duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Previous experience in a full-cycle bookkeeping, accounting, or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and ability to manage day-to-day accounting tasks independently.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, bill payments, bank reconciliations, and payroll hour calculations.
- Good understanding of general bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial records and transactions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to prepare organized financial information for the external accountant for HST, PD7A, year-end, and other required filings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
