About Pulse Infoframe

Pulse Infoframe is a global health technology company focused on cancer and rare and orphan disease. We believe medical advances happen when data is shared across boundaries, and we are leaders in Real World Data and Evidence. Our customers include leading global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, academic medical centres, and patient advocacy organizations.

About the role

You will be joining the team behind our clinical data and patient registry platform — the product that carries patient onboarding, consent, eligibility screening, structured clinical data capture and reporting for rare disease and oncology programs around the world. It is used by clinicians, researchers, patients and their families, and the data it holds supports real medical research.

This is a full-stack role. You will own features end to end, from the interface a patient or coordinator uses through to the services and queries behind it, and write the tests that keep a healthcare-grade product trustworthy.

Alongside feature delivery, we are actively investing in the quality of the product experience: responsive layouts that work properly on any device, accessibility that meets WCAG standards, and performance on the dense data-heavy screens our clinical users spend their days in. If you care about that kind of work, there is a lot of it here and real ownership available.

This is not a greenfield rewrite. You will be working in an established production platform with real users and real regulatory obligations, improving it as you go.

What you’ll do

- Build features across our current platform: Angular and TypeScript on the front end, Node.js Lambda services on the back end, MySQL and DynamoDB for data.
- Design and maintain ETL pipelines in C#, Node.js or Python that extract and transform data into operational and reporting views.
- Write and tune SQL against production data volumes, and model schemas that hold up as requirements change.

- Read and reverse-engineer our two older platform versions (Angular/Java/MySQL and PHP/Laravel) to understand exactly how their data and behaviour work, then migrate that data onto the current platform and prove it came across correctly.
- Keep those older systems stable while they're still in use — maintenance and production fixes, not new feature work. They are being retired.
- Review other developers' code, mentor junior and intermediate team members, and help break large pieces of work into deliverable units.
- Document schemas, data mappings and decisions so knowledge doesn't sit with one person.

Technologies you'll work with Current platform (where you'll build)

- Front end: Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS
- Back end: Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, REST APIs
- Data: MySQL, DynamoDB

Data pipelines

- C#, Node.js, Python
- MySQL operational and reporting views, SQL

Cloud and tooling

- AWS: Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch
- Git, CI/CD, Jira, Confluence

Older platform versions (where you'll read and maintain)

- Healthie V1: Angular, Java, MySQL
- Healthie Legacy: PHP, Laravel, LAMP stack

What we’re looking for

- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js, or comparable depth in another modern server-side language plus a track record of picking up new ones quickly.
- Experience with Angular, React or Vue.
- Strong SQL and relational data modelling — you can design a schema and explain why it's shaped the way it is.
- Hands-on ETL or data pipeline experience: incremental loads, error handling, reconciliation, and handling source systems that change without warning.

- The ability to read code you didn't write, in languages you don't use every day, and trace how an undocumented system actually behaves. This matters more to us than any single framework on your resume.
- Cloud experience, ideally AWS (Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC).
- Experience guiding other developers through code review, mentoring or leading a workstream.
- Clear communication with non-engineers — clinical and delivery colleagues need to follow what you're telling them.

Nice to have
- Experience migrating customers off a legacy platform and decommissioning it.
- Enough Java or PHP/Laravel to be self-sufficient reading those codebases.
- C# or Python for data pipeline work.
- Serverless architecture at scale.
- Reporting or analytics data models, and BI tooling downstream of them.
- CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability tooling.
- Healthcare or life sciences data: clinical registries, clinical trials, EDC systems, HL7, FHIR.
- Regulated environments — HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA, 21 CFR Part 11.

We welcome applications from all qualified individuals. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment process. To support an effective and fair hiring process, we use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with application screening. Our team reviews all outcomes, and final decisions are made by people, not technology.
