Lakeland Catholic School Division is seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyperson to join our Operations &
- Facilities team. Applicants holding a recognized Journeyperson certification in Carpentry, HVAC, Sheet Metal, or Plumbing are encouraged to apply.
Working throughout the Division, this position will support the maintenance, repair, renovation, and improvement of our schools and facilities. Our Operations &
- Facilities team works collaboratively across trades, with team members supporting one another and assisting with broader maintenance and facility needs as required.

Key Responsibilities The Journeyperson will:
- Perform skilled trade work within their area of certification, including maintenance, repairs, installations, renovations, and facility improvements.
- Diagnose facility and maintenance concerns and identify practical repair or replacement solutions.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and Operations &
- Facilities team members on Division-wide projects and day-to-day maintenance needs.
- Assist with general maintenance, repairs, installations, moving, setup,
and other facility-related work outside their primary trade, where appropriate and within their abilities.
- Complete preventative maintenance and respond to emerging facility needs.
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, measurements, specifications, and technical information as required.
- Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and Division vehicles required for assigned work.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and respond to urgent maintenance or facility issues outside regular working hours as required.
- Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, safe work practices, and Division procedures.
- Travel between schools and Division facilities and respond flexibly to changing operational priorities.
Qualifications Applicants Must Possess
- A recognized Journeyperson Certificate in one of the identified trades.
- Relevant experience in construction, renovation, maintenance, or commercial/institutional environments.
- Strong knowledge of their certified trade, including applicable tools, materials, methods, and safe work practices.
- A collaborative and team-focused approach, with a willingness to assist with maintenance work beyond their primary trade.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, time-management,
and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the Division.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate and back up trucks with trailers in a variety of working conditions.
- The ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in varied indoor and outdoor environments.
A Red Seal endorsement and experience working in a school, public-sector, or institutional facilities environment would be considered assets.
