NewGen serves residential, commercial, and institutional clients throughout British Columbia’s Lower Mainland regions, providing professional inspections, consultations, assessments, exclusion services, and wildlife and pest management solutions.

Role Description NewGen is seeking a full-time Pest Exclusion Technician to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Pest Exclusion Technician is responsible for identifying and correcting structural conditions that allow wildlife and pests to enter buildings and other areas of concern.

This is a hands-on, field-based position combining inspection, problem-solving, building maintenance, and skilled exclusion work.

Key responsibilities include:

● Inspecting buildings, structures, rooflines, foundations, and surrounding property to identify existing and potential wildlife and pest entry points.

● Installing professional exclusion systems, including sealing openings, reinforcing vulnerable areas, installing barriers,



screening vents and other access points, and completing minor structural repairs.

●Identifying contributing environmental or structural conditions and recommending practical corrective measures. - Performing pest-proofing and preventative maintenance using appropriate hand and power tools.

● Documenting findings, completed work, photographs, and recommendations through clear and professional service reports.

● Communicating findings and recommendations effectively with clients, supervisors, technicians, and other team members.

● Applying Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles and humane wildlife-management practices.

● Following established safety procedures and using tools, ladders, personal protective equipment, and other equipment responsibly.

● Working collaboratively with the Humane Solutions team to deliver professional, durable, and long-term solutions.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:

● Knowledge of pest control, wildlife management, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), or structural pest prevention. - Experience with pest and wildlife exclusion techniques, including sealing, screening, barrier installation, pest-proofing, and minor structural repairs.

● Practical experience in construction,



building maintenance, renovations, roofing, carpentry, or another skilled trade is considered a strong asset.

● Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to assess buildings for potential pest and wildlife access points.

● Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to completing work to a high professional standard.

● Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with clients and accurately document completed work.

● Familiarity with landscaping, grounds maintenance, or property conditions that contribute to pest and wildlife activity is an asset.

● Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and work from ladders or at heights when required.

● Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

● A strong commitment to humane, ethical, environmentally responsible, and sustainable pest and wildlife management practices.

●A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record and the ability to travel throughout the Lower Mainland as required.

Previous experience in pest control, wildlife management, construction, building maintenance, roofing, carpentry, or a related field is preferred.

Relevant pest management, safety, fall-protection, or trades certifications are considered an asset.

Pay: $37,026.41-$68,416.78 per year
