Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Garden Manager to lead our outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain vibrant, healthy, and beautifully maintained. The Garden Manager oversees landscape upkeep, horticultural projects, food production for Ste. Anne's food services team, bee cultivation, and personal care product development, while inspiring a team dedicated to creating an inviting natural environment that enhances our guests’ experience.

Compensation

- Hourly Wage: $30 -35 per hour starting wage.
- Access to EAP at 3 Months.

Garden Duties

- Create and manage day-to-day and long-term operational plans for the gardens, herb beds, greenhouse, micro-greens, tree lots, and vegetable plots.




- Lead gardening and horticulture activities, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, irrigation and pest management.
- Oversee the maintenance of decorative plants and structures throughout the Spa, including trees and shrubs, stills, and walkways.
- Supervise gardening staff, providing guidance, training, and leadership to foster a motivated team.
- Coordinate landscape construction projects such as new plantings or structural enhancements with other departments.
- Conduct regular inspections of outdoor spaces to identify issues and ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Manage the chain of production for vegetables, herbs and microgreens to supply the kitchens and bakery.
- Manage seasonal tasks like planting schedules, mulching, seasonal decorations, and preparing gardens for different weather conditions.
- Oversee fulfillment of various guest activities and special events, such as workshops, tours, special amenity requests, weddings, etc.

Apothecary Duties

- Lead ingredient collection and processing, scheduling production and assigning labor as necessary to effectively manage supply from formulation to delivery of finished products.
- Follow consistent quality control procedures, including maintaining a log of all Apothecary activities, tracking ingredients, batches and lots of raw and finished products, and ensuring the cleanliness and correct use of all equipment and tools.
- Work cooperatively with Retail,



Wholesale and Warehouse departments to coordinate new or modified product formulas, product feedback, supply needs, and order fulfillment.

Staff Supervision Duties

- Lead the team through modelling appropriate behaviors, safety precautions, and new skills, creating and distributing tools such as schedules and checklists as required.
- Communicate goals and assign tasks to Team Leads and Gardeners on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Train staff on plant identification, collection and care protocols, proper equipment and tool use, new apothecary formulas, and company policies.
- Monitor staff performance, reward positive contributions using the company's staff recognition program, and write and present annual reviews with the Property Director's support.
- Observe and enforce company policies on onboarding, attendance, time management, and discipline.

Schedule:

- Standard shifts: 8 hours with 30-minute meal break.
- Early morning availability required.
- Schedule may fluctuate with business needs.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid G Driver's License.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Ability to plan and organize multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, landscape maintenance, or related fields in a commercial setting is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of personal care product development, including formulation and manufacturing is an asset.

#HPIND Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
