Role Description The Gas A Fitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Burnaby, BC. The position is responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing industrial gas-fired equipment, including high-pressure steam boilers, burner systems, and associated piping. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing equipment issues, performing safety inspections, testing system performance, and completing required documentation and reports.

The role also involves interpreting technical drawings and codes, collaborating with other trades and team members, and ensuring work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.



The Gas A Fitter will interact with clients on-site to explain work performed, provide recommendations, and support reliable operation of heating and energy systems.

Qualifications

- Valid Gas A Fitter license and demonstrated experience working with industrial gas systems, boilers, and burner equipment.
- Strong technical skills in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of high-pressure steam boilers, HVAC systems, and related mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation, and apply applicable codes and safety regulations.
- Solid understanding of safety practices, including lockout/tagout, confined space awareness, and hazard identification in industrial environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and clients on-site.
- Valuable organizational and time management skills, including accurate completion of work orders, reports, and maintenance records.
- Physical ability to perform hands-on work, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied industrial environments and weather conditions.
- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship completion; additional training in HVAC, refrigeration, or controls is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Lower Mainland for on-site assignments.
