In this role, working independently or coordinating the work of assigned technicians, you will perform all duties required to maintain transmission and broadcasting systems/equipment in a cross-functional environment spanning networking, electronics and computer systems. Perform all duties required to maintain transmission and broadcasting systems/equipment and remote monitoring equipment (including function-testing, configuring, installing, inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, modifying,
repairing and refurbishing). Serve as a collaborative technical lead, taking responsibility for the technical quality of work performed by other technicians.
Resolve latent or intermittent technical issues to maintain reliable transmission and broadcasting services. Perform testing and complex adjustments to optimize technical facility performance. Source required parts and technical materials, contacting vendors for information and sharing details with relevant stakeholders.
Maintain workplace safety for all site personnel, contractors and visitors in compliance with operating standards. Oversee jobsites and co-ordinate subcontractor activities as needed to ensure all work meets project specifications. Maintain current technical knowledge to fulfil assigned responsibilities and keep pace with evolving technology.
Perform preventive maintenance and assist in developing methods and procedures that optimize equipment usage and simplify servicing. Advise personnel on the installation, commissioning and operation of production and broadcasting systems/equipment. Perform routine general building maintenance at remote transmission sites.
Operate any vehicle necessary for travel or job-related tasks,
requiring that you possess the appropriate valid driver’s licence; clean and perform routine maintenance on vehicles; comply with all applicable national or provincial driver licensing requirements and regulations. share information verbally or in writing to ensure proper followup and to keep others informed. Community college diploma (DSC) in electronics technology (telecommunications or computer systems option) or a related field. Working knowledge of English an asset.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts. Availability to travel around Quebec and occasionally the Far North. Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing. A mandatory Criminal record check.
