Graphic Designer Intern

Journal Printing is looking for a creative, motivated Graphic Designer Intern to join our team.
This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate, new entrant to the workforce, or someone beginning a career in graphic design. You will gain hands-on experience creating professional print and signage materials while working with an experienced local printing company.
What you’ll do
- Create and prepare artwork for print, signage, promotional materials, and marketing projects
- Work with customers and the production team to bring design ideas to life
- Prepare print-ready files and review artwork for accuracy
- Support design projects for a variety of local businesses and organizations
- Learn about commercial printing processes, file setup, colour, and production requirements
What we’re looking for
- A creative individual with an interest in graphic design and print production
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and organizational skills
- A portfolio of school, personal, volunteer,
or previous design work is an asset
- Freshers and recent graduates are encouraged to apply

Applicants must meet the program’s eligibility requirements. This includes being at least 18 years old, residing in Canada, legally entitled to work in Canada, and being a new entrant to the workforce, transitioning careers, or unemployed/underemployed while entering a new field. Candidates must not have previously participated in an NOHFC-funded internship. The internship is a 52-week, full time position with a minimum of 35 hours per week.[nohfc]
