Our ideal candidate is a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice with at least two years of apprenticeship training.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will be:
- Troubleshoot and repair Heavy Duty vehicles and engines including equipment for our customers; both in the shop and on site.
- Complete all required paperwork in detail and per established procedures.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following policies and procedures on quality, health, safety and environment.
- Will be required to perform both field and shop work as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
As a successful candidate for this position, you will have/be:
- Have heavy truck and trailer mechanical experience.
- Experience working on all types of engines. Knowledge of Maxxforce and Detroit engines is an asset.
- Experience operating a Mobile Service Truck is an asset.
- Light and Medium Duty Diesel Engine experience is an asset.
- Welding capabilities are an asset.
- Able to reliably read and write maintenance reports and work order documentation.
- Possess strong attention to detail, as well as organizational and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable with technology.
- Capable of working independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Must have toolbox and basic tools (up to and including 1/2” drive socket set) sufficient to perform servicing and repairs.
- Capable of working in a physically demanding multi-tasking work workplace. This position may also require overtime work.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A Class 1 or Class 3 license is an asset. (Driver’s Abstract required).
