This position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment and performing manual labour required to maintain highway and right-of-way assets in accordance with OMR standards and contractual requirements.
This role will be based in Dow Settlement,NB.
Your role
- Operate highway maintenance vehicles and equipment including snow plow trucks, dump trucks, loaders, skid steer loaders, tractors and light vehicles.
- Perform snow and ice control activities including plowing,sanding and salting.
- Complete pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform general highway maintenance and labour duties as required.
- Set up traffic control and assist with emergency response and site clean-up.
- Complete daily work records and reports.
- Assist mechanics with routine vehicle and equipment maintenance as needed.
- Assist with yard maintenance and general housekeeping.
- Work rotating shifts during Winter Operations.
- Overtime and on-call work may be required during winter weather events.
About You
- Minimum 2years of related experience preferred.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
- General knowledge of highway maintenance operations is an asset.
- Valid Class 1or Class 3driver's licence.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Able to work safely in all weather conditions.
- Available to work rotating shifts,overtime and on-call during Winter Operations.
