About ONCARES Home Care and Nursing Services:

ONCARES is dedicated to delivering high-quality support and care services aligned with Ontario's Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007. We are currently hiring Housekeeping and Cleaning Aides to provide essential services in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents and staff in long-term care (LTC) facilities across Simcoe County.

Key Responsibilities:

In adherence to the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act and its regulations, you will:

Maintain Cleanliness and Hygiene

- Perform daily cleaning of residents’ rooms, offices, and common areas, including furniture, floors, windows, washrooms, and dining areas.
- Conduct routine, deep, terminal, and discharge cleaning, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols.
- Manage waste disposal, laundry tasks, and floor maintenance, ensuring a clean, organized environment.

Ensure Infection Control

- Follow rigorous infection prevention and control measures, including cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces and equipment.
- Maintain proper use and storage of cleaning products per health and safety standards.

Support Safety and Compliance

- Check that supplies and equipment meet operational standards before starting daily tasks.
- Report any hazards, shortages, or equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors.

Collaborate Professionally:

- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to uphold the dignity, safety, and comfort of residents.




- Participate in ongoing training and compliance with workplace policies under the Long-Term Care Homes Act.

Perform Additional Duties

- Assist with other housekeeping or facility-related tasks as assigned by supervisors to meet operational needs.

Qualifications:

- Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Knowledge of infection control practices and housekeeping procedures in a healthcare or long-term care setting (preferred).

Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

Compliance Requirements:

- TB test/Chest x-ray ( 6 Months Old)
- Covid-19 Vaccine (3 doses)
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (dated within six months).
- Adherence to all workplace health and safety standards, including WHMIS training.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual Pay: $20.00 per hour
