Housekeeping SupervisorJob SummaryReporting to the operations manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the housekeeping team to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures compliance with Marriott Hotels and government standards while supporting efficient daily hotel operations.

Experience required: Minimum of 2 years of hotel housekeeping experience required.

Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise, and motivate the housekeeping team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional guest service
- Coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including room assignments, cleaning schedules, stayover services, departures, and public-area cleaning
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and other hotel facilities to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet Marriott Hotels and hotel standards
- Monitor room readiness and communicate effectively with the Front Desk regarding clean, inspected, and out-of-order rooms
- Train, coach, and develop housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, guest service standards, workplace safety, and proper use of equipment and chemicals
- Ensure housekeeping employees follow proper procedures for handling guest belongings, lost and found items, and guest requests
- Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of linens, towels, amenities, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping equipment
- Report maintenance issues, damages, safety hazards, and deficiencies promptly to the Maintenance Department and management
- Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, shift coverage, and daily allocation of housekeeping duties
- Address guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns professionally and promptly to ensure guest satisfaction
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with WHMIS and workplace safety requirements




- Conduct regular inspections and follow up on deficiencies to maintain consistent quality standards
- Assist with deep-cleaning projects, seasonal cleaning, and preventive housekeeping programs
- Maintain accurate records related to room inspections, inventory, lost and found, maintenance requests, and staff performance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards
- Support the management team with special projects, operational initiatives, and other duties as required

Skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience within a hotel housekeeping environment
- Excellent knowledge of hotel cleaning procedures, room standards, and housekeeping operations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Proven ability to train, coach, motivate, and develop housekeeping team members
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with guests and other hotel departments
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, including WHMIS and proper chemical handling
- Ability to inspect guest rooms and public areas and identify cleanliness, maintenance, and safety deficiencies
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a management team
- Fluency in English for effective communication with guests, employees, and management and for completing required documentation
