We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our growing team. This hands-on role supports employees and leadership across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, attendance, health and safety, and HR administration. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and confident in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, employment offers, and onboarding.
- Coordinate new-hire documentation, orientations, training requirements, and employee records.
- Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Support employee relations matters, including attendance, performance concerns, workplace issues, and progressive discipline.
- Prepare employment letters, offer letters, disciplinary documentation, policy communications, and other HR correspondence.
- Administer employee benefits, vacation, leaves of absence, and other HR programs.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee files and HR records.
- Support workplace injury management, modified duties, accommodations, return-to-work planning, and WSIB documentation.
- Assist with health and safety initiatives, employee training, workplace inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Track attendance, training, performance reviews, and other employee information.
- Coordinate resignations, terminations, and employee offboarding.
- Help ensure company HR practices remain consistent with applicable employment legislation and internal policies.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the organization grows.
What You’ll Bring
- 2–3 years of professional Human Resources experience is preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, attendance management, and HR administration.
- Experience in a manufacturing, construction, skilled trades, or similar fast-paced setting is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of WSIB, workplace accommodations,
and return-to-work processes is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently.
- Strong written communication and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- CHRP designation or progress toward a designation is considered an asset.
