We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and highly organized Human Resources Manager to join our team and take ownership of the day-to-day HR function across our stores and Home Office.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working closely with leadership, building strong teams, improving processes, and creating a positive and accountable workplace culture.

The OpportunityAs Human Resources Manager, you will oversee and develop HR programs and processes across West Coast Kids, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, performance management, employee relations, health and safety, policies, compensation, and employee engagement.

You will work closely with our leadership team and store managers to ensure HR practices are consistent, effective, and aligned with the company's goals.

Previous Dayforce experience is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Talent Management

- Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for management and key leadership positions across Canada.
- Identify open Home Office and field positions and provide monthly recruitment updates.
- Post and manage job advertisements for store and Home Office positions.
- Screen applicants and conduct first-round interviews for leadership roles.
- Work with hiring managers to ensure a strong and efficient recruitment process.
- Create and maintain position profiles for all roles.
- Develop hiring targets for peak seasons and partner with stores to achieve staffing goals.
- Create engaging, branded job advertisements that represent the West Coast Kids culture.

Onboarding & Employee Administration

- Manage the complete onboarding process for new hires through Dayforce.
- Ensure all required new-hire documentation is completed, distributed, and properly maintained.
- Ensure stores understand HR paperwork requirements, including what should remain on-site and what must be submitted to HR, Payroll, and other departments.




- Provide welcome packages and HR support for new management hires.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files, records, and documentation.
- Maintain the company directory and organizational charts.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

- Develop and implement a consistent employee review and performance management process.
- Partner with managers on employee performance issues, progressive discipline, and documentation.
- Ensure consistency and fairness in the application of company policies and disciplinary processes.
- Conduct and oversee exit interviews and analyze trends related to employee turnover.
- Develop strategies to improve employee retention and reduce turnover.
- Support leadership in building strong, accountable, and engaged teams.

Payroll & Compensation

- Partner with Accounting to support payroll accuracy and resolve payroll-related issues.
- Ensure employee information is accurately maintained in Dayforce.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
- Develop and administer bonus and commission programs where applicable.
- Develop and maintain company expense protocols, including store-level processes.

Policies & HR Programs

- Develop, review, and recommend HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update the Employee Handbook.
- Ensure HR practices remain consistent across all locations.
- Develop and implement new HR processes and programs as the company grows.
- Maintain HR records, reports, and documentation.
- Recommend new approaches and procedures that improve the employee experience and business operations.
- Participate in administrative and leadership meetings as required.

Health & Safety

- Develop and maintain the company's Health & Safety program across all locations.




- Ensure stores have the tools, processes, and training required to maintain a safe workplace.
- Develop monthly and quarterly Health & Safety checklists.
- Monitor ongoing issues and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Participate in and facilitate quarterly Health & Safety committee meetings.
- Review reported incidents, trends, and concerns and work with leadership to implement improvements.

What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a multi-location retail environment.
- Dayforce experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting multiple locations and working with managers at all levels.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable developing new processes and helping teams adapt to change.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
