We are seeking a qualified local Industrial Field Service Technician/Mechanic to provide on-call service support in the London, Ontario area.
The technician will inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial equipment, including air compressors, diesel and natural gas generator sets, engines, electrical components and related systems. This is an independent contractor opportunity with immediate work available and the potential for an ongoing service relationship.
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Service industrial air compressors, generator sets, engines and related mechanical components.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Complete service reports, inspection documentation and applicable written sign-offs.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide explicit service updates.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, electrical codes and site requirements.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in industrial equipment maintenance, field service, generators, engines, air compressors or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams and service manuals.
- Own transportation and appropriate service tools.
- Good English communication and documentation skills.
Immediate Work Available We currently have an assignment at a customer site in London involving:
- Inspection of the installation of one 50 HP rotary screw air compressor complete system, 575–600V, 3-phase.
- Completion of the applicable inspection report and written sign-off.

Compensation: Negotiable based on experience, qualifications and scope of work. Rates and contract terms will be discussed by phone. Pay: From $35.00 per hour
