Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Maintenance Technician role based in Cap-Pelé, NB.
The Industrial Maintenance
Technician will perform routine preventive maintenance and repair on processing machinery, conveyors, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical issues, replacing parts, performing adjustments, and ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently. The role involves responding to maintenance requests from production staff, documenting work performed, and following safety and sanitation protocols specific to food processing. The technician will also assist with equipment installations,
support continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with supervisors to prioritize maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with industrial equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Basic electrical and instrumentation skills, including safe work practices around industrial power systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, use of hand and power tools, and reading technical manuals or schematics.
- Understanding of safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing or food processing environments.
- Ability to work in office in Cap-Pelé, NB, including standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and working in production or cold-room settings.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with production staff and supervisors.
- Strong organizational skills for documenting maintenance activities and managing multiple tasks or priorities.
- Relevant technical training or trade certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in fisheries, seafood processing, or food manufacturing is considered an advantage.
