Position: Full-Time ECE / IT Educator

Wild Coast Daycare is a growing childcare organization with three locations across Greater Victoria: Esquimalt, Shelbourne, and Sidney. We are committed to providing a safe, caring, and welcoming environment where children can learn, play, and grow.

Our educators work together across our centres to support one another, share ideas, and provide high-quality care for children and families.

Qualifications:

- Valid BC ECE or Infant & Toddler Educator (IT) Certificate
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, responsible, and patient
- Previous childcare experience is an asset

Responsibilities:

- Provide a safe, caring, and engaging workplace for children
- Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and developmental needs
- Maintain positive communication with families and team members
- Follow Licensing requirements and centre policies
- Work collaboratively with other educators and management

Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant & Toddler Educator (IT) / Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe,



and stimulating environment for young children during their crucial early years. Your enthusiasm for child development and strong communication skills will help foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages growth, exploration, and social-emotional development.

Duties

- Plan and implement engaging daily activities tailored to the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, promoting physical, cognitive, and emotional growth
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and active listening
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and environments to meet individual requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of children’s progress, daily routines, and any incidents or observations
- Organize classroom materials, supplies, and learning resources efficiently to support smooth daily operations




- Collaborate with team members to develop educational plans that align with early childhood education standards and best practices

Experience

- Prior experience working with children in a childcare or early childhood education setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of child development principles, especially related to infants and toddlers
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a strong asset
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are preferred to effectively communicate with diverse families
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing classroom activities and guiding young learners
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining classroom routines, documentation, and supplies
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, reporting, and educational planning purposes
- Ability to manage time efficiently while balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
