We are an established boutique CPA firm in Durham Region serving owner-managed businesses and individuals across various industries. We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with public practice experience who is comfortable managing a variety of accounting and tax engagements while providing exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will enjoy a high level of responsibility, direct client interaction, and the chance to further develop their accounting and tax expertise within a collaborative small-firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare Compilation Engagement files.
- Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns.
- Assist with client books & records, working papers, account reconciliations, adjusting entries and financial statements/schedules as required
- Prepare and review payroll, T4 & T5 slips & summaries, and HST returns.
- Communicate with clients & CRA to obtain required information and respond to inquiries.
- Assist in identifying and resolving accounting and tax issues.




- Support managers and partners in meeting engagement deadlines.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in accounting or related field
- CPA designation completed or actively pursuing is preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a public practice environment.
- Experience preparing compilation engagements and tax returns.
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax compliance requirements.
- Experience with QuickBooks/QBO, Xero, Caseware, professional tax software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and client service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines effectively.

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
