Job Summary The successful candidate will conduct learning needs and audience analysis, develop role-based learning strategies, and design, develop, deliver, evaluate, and maintain a wide range of learning and performance-support solutions. These may include instructor-led training, virtual learning, e-learning, multimedia, digital adoption resources, job aids, and other performance-support materials.

The role will collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders, subject-matter experts, vendors, program leadership, and the 1GX Change Network to validate requirements, manage competing feedback, coordinate deliverables, mitigate risks, and ensure training materials remain accurate, accessible, consistent, and current.

The resource will also leverage learner feedback, assessments, performance data, and adoption insights to continuously improve learning solutions and provide coaching and guidance to junior contributors.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead government-wide 1GX training initiatives and develop learning strategies aligned with business objectives and system adoption goals.
- Conduct learning needs assessments, audience analysis, role assessments, and work-context analysis.
- Assess business processes and target roles to develop practical, relevant, and performance-focused training solutions.
- Define appropriate delivery strategies, including instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced learning.
- Establish learning objectives, success measures, and evaluation approaches aligned with business outcomes.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain complex learning solutions for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop instructor-led training materials, virtual training, e-learning modules, instructional videos, multimedia content, digital adoption resources, job aids, quick reference guides, and performance-support materials.
- Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, accessibility standards, and user-centred design practices.
- Ensure learning content is clear, inclusive, engaging, accessible, accurate, and effective.
- Facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences.
- Translate complex ERP systems, business processes, and technical concepts into clear and practical workflows.
- Support learners through system adoption and operational changes.




- Collaborate with program leadership, business process owners, subject-matter experts, vendors, and the 1GX Change Network.
- Gather and validate learning and training requirements.
- Facilitate content reviews and reconcile competing stakeholder feedback.
- Confirm training readiness and align delivery with project and operational timelines.
- Maintain effective stakeholder communications throughout training initiatives.
- Manage multiple training initiatives, deliverables, priorities, dependencies, risks, and timelines.
- Develop work plans and provide progress updates and stakeholder reporting.
- Establish and follow training governance processes, including intake, prioritization, reviews, approvals, quality assurance, version control, accessibility reviews, and content maintenance.
- Ensure training materials remain accurate, current, consistent, accessible, and compliant with established governance standards.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness using learner feedback, assessments, performance measures, adoption indicators, and other relevant data.
- Analyze evaluation results and implement continuous improvements to learning solutions.
- Update training solutions based on learner needs, business changes, system enhancements, and adoption results.
- Use approved digital adoption, multimedia, collaboration, content-development, and AI-enabled tools to enhance learning analysis, content creation, training delivery, learner support, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
- Ensure digital and AI-enabled tools are used in accordance with Government of Alberta policies and standards for accuracy, accessibility, privacy, security, and compliance.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to junior trainers and learning contributors.
- Promote consistent training delivery, strong instructional design practices, and high-quality learning products.

Mandatory Qualifications Education

- University graduation in a related field, such as:

- Adult Education

- Education
- Learning & Development

- Organizational Development

- Training
- A related discipline

Mandatory Experience Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience in each of the following:

- Conducting learning needs analysis, audience and role assessment, and work-context/business-process analysis.
- Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end learning solutions.
- Facilitating instructor-led and virtual training for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications Candidates with the following experience will be preferred:

- 2+ years designing or configuring digital adoption solutions, including embedded guidance, walkthroughs, and performance-support tools.
- 2+ years developing accessible e-learning, instructional videos, audio, or multimedia learning content.
- 2+ years gathering requirements, facilitating reviews, reconciling competing stakeholder feedback, and validating learning solutions.
- 2+ years using AI-enabled tools to support instructional design, learning analysis, content development, or training delivery.
- 2+ years using learner feedback, assessments, performance measures, and adoption indicators to evaluate and improve learning solutions.
- 2+ years of experience delivering training for ERP systems, such as:

- Finance

- Human Capital Management (HCM)

- Payroll

- Supply Chain

- Procurement

- Other enterprise business systems
