About the Position

CM Designers & Engineers Ltd. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project coordinator Intern with Architecture or Civil Engineering degree to join our design and engineering team for a four-month internship.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in architectural design, civil engineering, building permits, construction documentation, zoning research, and project coordination.

The successful candidate will work closely with our architectural, engineering, and project coordination teams and gain hands-on experience with real residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation of architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other design software.
- Assist with residential and commercial building permit applications and documentation.
- Prepare and revise floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and construction details.
- Assist with site measurements, site visits, and existing-condition drawings.
- Conduct research related to zoning bylaws, setbacks, lot coverage, parking, landscaping, and other municipal requirements.
- Assist in reviewing drawings and documents for coordination and accuracy.
- Support project coordinators and designers in preparing permit submission packages.
- Assist with communication and coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and municipal departments.
- Participate in project meetings and site inspections when required.
- Assist with 3D modeling, renderings, presentations, and other design-related tasks.
- Organize project drawings, documents, and revisions.
- Perform other architectural, engineering, and project coordination duties as assigned.

Technical Skills

- Basic to intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Civil 3D, or other design software is an asset.
- Basic understanding of architectural drawings and construction documents.




- Basic understanding of building construction and construction materials.
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and municipal zoning requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings.

- A valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites is an asset.
- Previous experience with architectural, engineering, construction, or permit projects is an asset.
