Join Our Team

G.E.C. is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Construction Electrician with strong leadership skills to join our team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can independently install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems. The ideal candidate is a confident problem-solver who takes ownership of projects, can effectively manage day-to-day priorities, and leads by example while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position, with regular hours of 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. Overtime opportunities are available. The role includes travel to job sites, electrical troubleshooting, and repairs.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and coordinate electrical work to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment
- Travel to job sites for field repairs, service, and troubleshooting
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Ensure all work meets electrical codes, safety standards, and quality expectations




- Train and support apprentices and team members
- Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment needed for projects
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and team members
- Take ownership of projects and ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard
- Manage time and order materials accordingly

Qualifications and Experience

- Journeyperson Construction Electrician certification required
- Red Seal certification considered an asset
- 3+ years of experience as a journeyperson is preferred
- Strong experience in electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Solid knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Safety-focused, dependable, and committed to quality workmanship

Who We're Looking For We're looking for an electrician who is qualified and capable. You should be comfortable working with a wide range of electrical systems, troubleshooting issues that aren't immediately obvious, and making informed decisions to get the job done right. We're looking for someone who can stay calm when challenges come up, think through problems, and confidently guide the team toward a solution.
