Junior Accountant - Cash, Accounts Payable and Capital Expenditures

Role The Junior Accountant supports the Finance team by maintaining accurate and timely records for daily cash activity, accounts payable, corporate credit cards, capital expenditures, and fixed assets. The role also assists with month-end close, account reconciliations, audit support, and short-term cash reporting. This position is well suited to a detail-oriented accounting qualified who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and can work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Process vendor invoices and payment runs accurately and on time, ensuring appropriate coding, documentation, and approvals.

· Reconcile vendor statements, bank accounts, cash, corporate credit cards, and related general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

· Maintain vendor records, support new vendor onboarding, and monitor prepaid and recurring expenses.

· Prepare daily cash-position reports, monitor cash activity, assist with short-term forecasting, and coordinate inter-account transfers.

· Track capital projects and ensure expenditures are appropriately classified as capital or operating expenses.

· Maintain the fixed asset subledger and support asset capitalization, depreciation entries, roll-forwards, and capital budget reporting.

· Support month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries,



and account reconciliations.

· Maintain accurate records and prepare supporting documentation for audits, tax filings, internal reviews, and internal control requirements.

· Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory teams to track spending, commitments, and project costs.

· Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; candidates actively pursuing a relevant credential may also be considered.

· One to two years of accounting or accounts payable experience; relevant internship or co-op experience will be considered.

· Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger activity, and financial statements.

· Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and pivot tables.

· Experience using accounting software or an enterprise resource planning system is preferred.

· Experience with fixed asset or capital expenditure accounting is an asset.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
