In collaboration with community partners and an incredible body of committed volunteers, GEM delivers mentorship, skill-building and professional development activities, GEMinars, scholarships, internships, and research on mentorship solutions for girls and women.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a driven and passionate high school student to join our team as a Junior Intern. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand experience in non-profit program administration, mentorship development, and educational program delivery. As a Junior Intern, you will work closely with our program coordinator and GEM Mentee programs team and other key staff members, contributing to the success of the GEM program.

Responsibilities:

- Support in writing and editing program-related communications.
- Perform general administrative duties, including email correspondence, scheduling, and organization.




- Contribute to the development and implementation of key elements of the GEM Mentorship program.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for virtual and in-person events, including participant communication, scheduling, and material preparation.
- Assist in researching and evaluating potential curricular resources.
- Offer insights on various mentorship topics.
- Other duties as assigned.

Learning Opportunities:

- Gain hands-on experience in non-profit program administration and coordination.
- Engage in the development and delivery of a mentorship program for youth.
- Learn about educational program creation and implementation.
- Develop skills in program monitoring and evaluation.
- Monthly professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in high school (Grades 9-12).
- Ability to travel to the GTA occasionally for in-person speaking opportunities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for mentorship, education, and social innovation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Commitment to 10 hours per month from October to May.
