Responsibilities
- Safely operate Large Commercial Vehicles (LCVs), including tractor-trailers, on scheduled routes between Edmonton and Saskatoon.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs throughout each shift.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies during every journey.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy vehicles and LCV certification required.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially on long-haul routes such as Edmonton to Saskatoon.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial trucking and freight transportation.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, loading, unloading, and vehicle inspections.
