Certified Teacher – Lead Instructor

Location: MITT ALC UFCW Campus

Days/Hours: Variable Schedule 5:15 pm - 9:00 pm (0.25 FTE)

MITT is hiring a Certified Teacher-Lead Instructor for UFCW's ALC. Click here to learn more about MITT’s Adult Learning Centres.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Personnel administration including but not limited to, assist in hiring, supervise teachers and administrative staff, orientate new teachers.
- Provide leadership in opportunities for the professional growth and development of employees
- Assist in providing educational programming for learners in the community through student surveys, open communication with students, and statistics from previous years in collaboration with the Education Director.
- Guides students through the registration process and conduct new student registration interviews.
- Assesses student transcripts
- Provide opportunity for students to discuss career goals and ensure accurate course selection is appropriate for future academic programming.
- Oversee maintenance of student records.
- Responsible for site budget, in collaboration with the Education Director and MITT.
- Teaching the curriculum prescribed or approved by the minister.
- Providing an effective classroom learning environment.
- Maintaining order and discipline among pupils attending or participating in activities that are sponsored or approved by the school, whether inside or outside the school.
- Advising pupils as to what is expected of them in school, reviewing their assessments with them, and evaluating their progress and reporting on that progress.




- Administering and marking any assessment of pupil performance that the minister may direct, in the manner that the minister directs.
- Ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
- Previous Grade 11/12 English teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

- Experience teaching in a blended learning setting.
- Experience with Brightspace Learning Management System.
- Experience teaching in an adult setting.

Salary is in accordance with the Collective Agreement. An eligibility list may be created for similar positions. Developmental opportunities may be available for candidates who do not meet all of the requirements of the position.
