Your new role
- Support the end-to-end residential leasing process, from prospect inquiry through move-in.
- Conduct tenant screenings, including credit and background checks, and ensure all leasing documentation is completed accurately.
- Process lease agreements and collect required move-in documentation, including deposits, banking information, insurance documents, and utility details.
- Conduct pre-move-in and move-in inspections, ensuring units meet company standards and documenting unit condition.
- Coordinate tenant onboarding activities and establish recurring payment arrangements and EFT setups within Yardi.
- Maintain accurate tenant records and property information within property management systems.
- Perform monthly market surveys and competitive analysis to identify market trends and support leasing strategy recommendations.
- Create and manage suite advertisements across multiple marketing platforms to generate leasing traffic and maintain occupancy levels.
- Manage waitlists and proactively communicate with prospective residents to maximize leasing opportunities.
- Conduct property tours and provide excellent customer service throughout the leasing process.
- Assist with maintaining accurate financial records related to tenant deposits, rent payments, and leasing transactions.
- Collaborate with property management, maintenance, and marketing teams to support leasing initiatives and resident engagement programs.
What you'll need to succeed
- 1-3 years of experience in leasing, property management, customer service,
administration, retail sales, or a related field .
- Previous experience within a residential property management, real estate, or leasing environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of residential leasing processes, lease agreements, tenant communication, and rent collection practices.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with the ability to provide a positive resident experience.
- Experience conducting property tours, handling leasing inquiries, and managing prospect follow-up activities.
- Comfortable reviewing documentation, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Yardi or other property management software is considered a strong asset.
- Understanding of residential tenancy legislation and landlord-tenant relations is beneficial.
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Professional designations such as CRLS, CPM, RPA, Yardi Certification, Property Management Certification, or RTA Training are considered assets.
