Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality,



patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills. Strong ability to work in a collaborative team demonstrating adaptability and flexibility from day to day. Proven critical thinking, decision-making and assessment skills.

Physically able to perform all assigned tasks which may involve physical exertion not limited to climbing stairs, walking outside, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping and carrying, which may involve visits to client homes that are not ideal. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment. 1 year LPN experience in a long-term care/home care/acute care setting in the last 5 years.

Supportive Pathways or any dementia related courses. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Palliative Care. Nail Care.
