: Location Manager

Budget Car & Truck Rental of Calgary is seeking an experienced, results-driven Location Manager to lead the growth, profitability, and operational performance of our location.

The successful candidate will be accountable for driving revenue through active sales initiatives, developing new business opportunities, overseeing daily operations, leading and developing employees, managing fleet activity, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. While the primary focus of the role is business development, sales growth, and overall location performance, the Location Manager is also expected to take a hands-on approach to the operation and step in to support the team wherever needed during busy periods or operational demands.

Position Responsibilities include

Operations

· Coach, support, and develop Customer Service and Sales Representatives to meet or exceed company performance standards and individual sales goals.

· Maintain a professional image of the location, including property appearance, employee uniforms, and vehicle cleanliness and condition.

· Manage location staffing requirements, including scheduling, recruitment, hiring, and employee termination when required.

· Monitor employee performance, conduct performance reviews, and implement corrective or disciplinary action as necessary.

· Work closely with the Training & Development Manager to support employee training, coaching, development, and the establishment of individual performance goals.

· Communicate and implement company policies, programs, procedures, and operational updates.

· Maintain the security and condition of company assets, including the building, vehicle inventory,



equipment, cash, receipts, and company documents.

· Conduct weekly performance reviews with Customer Service and Sales Representatives and perform vehicle spot-check inspections to ensure consistency with company standards.

· Plan and facilitate location staff meetings as required and ensure employees receive relevant internal communications and memorandums.

· Ensure all location reporting, administrative requirements, and daily business activities are completed accurately and on time.

· Monitor overdue vehicles on a daily basis and work closely with the Distribution Department to minimize company risk and facilitate vehicle recovery.

· Collaborate with other locations to support fleet requirements, including fleet additions and removals, intercity transfers, and vehicle movement between locations.

Business Management & Location Profitability

· Under the direction of the General Manager, assist in developing forecasts for controllable expenses and vehicle requirements.

· Identify opportunities to increase market share and actively pursue new business.

· Support accounts receivable collection efforts as required.

· Meet or exceed established revenue objectives.

· Meet or exceed incremental sales targets.

· Manage personnel costs to ensure they remain appropriate for current business levels.

· Monitor and control other operating expenses in accordance with business activity and company expectations.

· Maintain or exceed the location’s planned vehicle utilization target of 80%.





· Prepare and submit regular Weekly Management Reports.

· Attend and actively participate in scheduled management meetings and other meetings as required.

Customer Service

· Consistently deliver service that meets or exceeds customer expectations and company standards.

· Identify opportunities and recommend initiatives to improve the overall customer experience.

· Resolve customer concerns and complaints within the authority established by the General Manager, with the goal of ensuring every reasonable effort is made to achieve customer satisfaction.

· Ensure internal communications relating to accidents, claims, vehicle distribution, human resources, and other operational matters are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree is considered an asset.

· Minimum of 5 years of previous combined experience in sales and management is required.

· Previous experience in the car rental, hospitality, travel, or tourism industries is considered an asset.

· Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

· Robust sales, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s licence and maintain a satisfactory driving record that meets company standards.

· Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

· Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and in an environment involving vehicles.
