JHS Logistics Ltd. is a fast-growing transportation company specializing in refrigerated, expedited, LTL, and cross-border freight throughout Canada and the United States.

As we continue to expand our LTL division, we are looking for an experienced LTL Operations Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands how to keep trucks profitable while delivering exceptional customer service.

This is not an entry-level dispatcher position. We are looking for someone who can think strategically, solve problems independently, and take ownership of the entire transportation process.

Key Responsibilities

- Source profitable LTL and truckload freight through load boards, customer relationships, and other available resources while maximizing truck profitability.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with customers, brokers, and carriers.
- Build and consolidate LTL shipments to maximize revenue and equipment utilization.
- Plan efficient pickup and delivery routes while minimizing empty miles and unnecessary costs.
- Dispatch drivers and manage shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Schedule and coordinate pickup and delivery appointments.
- Monitor shipments in real time and proactively resolve service issues.
- Communicate professionally with customers, drivers, brokers, warehouses, and carriers.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including BOLs, PODs, and shipment records.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and load boards efficiently.
- Analyze freight opportunities, lane profitability, and operational performance.
- Assist in growing and improving our LTL operation through new ideas and process improvements.
- Perform full-cycle dispatch and operations duties as required.

Qualifications





- Minimum 3 years of transportation dispatch or logistics experience.
- Proven ability to source profitable freight and keep equipment moving.
- Solid knowledge of LTL operations, route planning, and freight consolidation.
- Experience using Loadlink, DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and transportation software.
- Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of cross-border and refrigerated transportation is an asset.
