Position Overview

Johnny K CARSTAR Group is looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Attendant to support the day-to-day maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and general upkeep of our multiple automotive collision repair facilities throughout Edmonton.

The Maintenance & Facilities Attendant is responsible for the routine, preventative, and scheduled maintenance of all CARSTAR Group facilities and shop equipment. This position travels between locations to ensure buildings, equipment, work areas, and common areas are maintained in a protected, clean, and operational condition.

This is a mobile position that will require travel between our locations to complete maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, and general facility support.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

- Complete scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance across 6 CARSTAR locations.
- Inspect and maintain buildings, shop areas, offices, washrooms, storage areas, parking areas,doors, lighting, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and general facility infrastructure.
- Complete minor repairs and maintenance where qualified and appropriate.
- Conduct routine inspections of shop equipment and identify equipment requiring repair orprofessional servicing.
- Maintain maintenance tools, supplies, and storage areas.
- Identify potential maintenance issues before they result in equipment failure or operational disruption.
- Coordinate specialized repairs and servicing with approved contractors and service providers.

HSE Inspections & Safety

- Complete scheduled HSE and workplace safety inspections.
- Identify and report hazards including slip/trip hazards, electrical concerns, fire hazards, blocked exits, improper storage, damaged equipment, and housekeeping deficiencies.
- Inspect emergency exits,



safety signage, spill kits, eyewash stations, and other applicable safety equipment.
- Document deficiencies and follow up on outstanding corrective actions.
- Immediately report responsible or urgent safety concerns to the Store Manager and Operations.
- Follow all applicable CARSTAR safety policies, Alberta OHS requirements, safe work procedures, and PPE requirements.

Maintenance Scheduling & Documentation

- Follow the CARSTAR preventative maintenance schedule and location rotation.
- Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work based on safety, urgency, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance, inspections, repairs, deficiencies, and contractor work.
- Track outstanding maintenance issues through to completion.
- Provide regular updates to Operations regarding maintenance requirements, HSE concerns, and recommended repairs.
- Submit a monthly maintenance summary identifying completed work, outstanding issues, and upcoming maintenance requirements.

Contractor & Vendor Coordination

- Coordinate approved contractors and service providers as required.
- Provide facility access and support contractors during scheduled service.
- Confirm work has been completed satisfactorily and report any outstanding concerns.
- Obtain appropriate approval before arranging significant repairs or expenditures.

Inter-Shop Pickups & Vehicle Shuttling





- Complete scheduled and as-needed vehicle shuttling, inter-shop pickups, and deliveries between CARSTAR locations.
- Transport vehicles, parts, equipment, supplies, and other materials safely and efficiently.
- Conduct basic vehicle condition checks and report any concerns or damage.
- Ensure vehicles, keys, and materials are delivered to the correct location and communicated to the appropriate team.
- Follow all company driver, vehicle-use, and HSE requirements.
- Prioritize transportation requests based on operational and customer needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic repairs.
- Ability to identify workplace hazards and facility deficiencies.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule across multiple locations.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in an automotive collision repair environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, lift and carry maintenance supplies, and work both indoors and outdoors in an automotive shop environment. Expected hours: 40.0 per week
